I saw this the other day and of course it made me think of Dad. He was a great Dad, but he was an even better Papa. He wasn't always the most patient man in the world, but when it came to those kids he was. They could get away with anything at Mom and Dad's house. One of his famous quotes was, "No timeouts at Papa's house." He never worried about stuff getting broken or messed up and always said, "There's nothing in this house they can hurt." They had him wrapped around their little fingers. He was always making sure Seth and Molly were having a fun time and doing silly things to make them laugh. Sophia and Chase were just babies when he died, but he always lit up like a Christmas tree when he saw them. He loved to rock them while he sang to them. While I'm sad that he's no longer with us, I do feel grateful for the time we all had together. I guess it's better to have an awesome Papa for just a little while, then a grumpy, old, mean Papa for a long time.
